  • A research team from Fraunhofer HNFIZ has published a newly developed evaluation model that classifies the technical capabilities of humanoids into five levels. Applications can also be classified based on the required robot capabilities. The model makes humanoids comparable, facilitates finding the right humanoid for a specific application, and highlights open issues in technology development.

    AI Chip Design From Heilbronn

    AI plays a huge role in the semiconductor industry, both by facilitating more efficient development processes and as a target application in development work. This is why the Fraunhofer Heilbronn Research and Innovation Centers HNFIZ are adding the Chip AI research and innovation center for AI chip design to their service range. The center is funded via the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. The Chip AI research and innovation center relies on close cooperation with stakeholders of the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI).

  • With the ML4QT — Machine Learning for Quantum Technologies international symposium held at the start of July, Heilbronn sent a strong signal in relation to the pioneering field of quantum AI. Leading minds from science and industry — including representatives of the renowned University of Waterloo (Canada), German research institutions and the European quantum industry — met at the experimenta science center to discuss current advances at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing.
