The Research and Innovation Center (FIZ) “Innovation & Foresight” of Fraunhofer ISI –Joint Innovation Hub Heilbronn for short – stands for systemic AI-based innovation and futures science. In line with the vision of ‘future innovations for innovative futures’, the research focuses on application-oriented innovation and future research. The FIZ anticipates innovative developments at an early stage, analyzes and shapes them with its clients, and supports their successful implementation. It works and conducts research at the intersections of innovation, digitalization and AI, and sustainability in regional, supra-regional and international innovation ecosystems. The FIZ formulates new questions and develops future-proof solutions in defined applications and scenarios, such as digitalization in administrations, nutrition and safety, building and mobility. The focus here is on the systemic innovation process from strategic foresight, participation and innovation support to accompanying transformation for and with businesses, academia, civil society and politics.
